The mission
of the Global Art Project is to joyously create a culture of peace through art.
The Project celebrates diversity and multiculturalism while expressing the
idea: We Are All One. The artwork that you help to
create will be sent as a gift of global friendship and exhibited in a receiving
community. On April
23, 2014, thousands of people will be sending messages
of Peace around the world—visions of unity will simultaneously encircle the
Earth.
Faces
without Places is joining these efforts by collaborating with schools, shelters
and other community organizations to explore the concept: Home, What It
Means To Me. We are asking that you
join us by creating an original piece of artwork, which visually represents a
place you call home. Ultimately, our goal is to get community members
thinking about their feelings regarding housing and what it would be like to be
without what we consider a universal human right.
We Invite
You to Add Your Voice and Help Us to
Create a
Beautiful Piece of Artwork!
Create: A 5”x7” original piece of
artwork that depicts “What Home Means to Me”
For installation purposes,
the image should be created on cardstock, depicted vertically and please leave
1” of your piece blank at the top. Three-dimensional pieces will not be
accepted.
On the back of the artwork, please share your
thoughts regarding the idea that housing is a universal human right.
Submit: All artwork should be mailed by March 17, 2014 and include your contact
information. (Please note, submissions constitute permission for Faces without
Places to use your artwork and artwork will not be returned.)
