This
month, we want to spotlight Kay Cummings, one of our most committed
volunteers and a woman who epitomizes the spirit of philanthropy.
Earlier this month, Kay graciously hosted a fantastic Wish List Party
for FwP at her home. There was great music, food, and shopping, and the
event yielded bins of donated school supplies, a number of filled
backpacks, and significant funds to help remove barriers to education
for children experiencing homelessness.
However,
this party is just the tip of the iceberg with regards to Kay's
generosity and commitment for the causes in which she believes. Kay
threw an outstanding fundraising party last year that benefited Faces
without Places and other organizations, and she has donated an
incredible number of in-kind donations to help children experiencing
homelessness. Moreover, earlier this year, Kay made an incredible run
for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Woman of the Year, raising tens
of thousands of dollars through over a dozen fun events in Cincinnati
and Florida.
We
believe Kay is a prime example of how volunteers can devote their time
and energy to have fun while making an enormous impact on charities and
important causes. We cannot thank Kay enough for her continued support!
