In The News: Families and Children Experiencing Homelessness

The Greater Cincinnati Coalition for the Homeless and the Nation are reporting increased numbers of families experiencing homelessness. On December 22, 2010 the Huffington Post reported that the number of homeless families has increased by 9 percent, according to the U.S. Conference of Mayors Hunger and Homelessness Survey. Unfortunately, Cincinnati was not a part of this survey and the Coalition for the Homeless is working diligently to come up with data which will provide greater insight into the severity of the problem and ways to address is.

On December 21, 2010, Josh Spring, Executive Director of the Coalition for the Homeless held a press conference to enlighten the public on the issues families experiencing homelessness are facing (See Media Coverage Links, below).

Additionally, the Washington Post has published an article on 12-27-10 about high schoolers experiencing homelessness and the Huffington Post published an article on college students experiencing homelessness, which mirror many of the issues that students served by PC/FwP face.
